Contactless filling level measurement with ultrasound
EGE offers ultrasound sensors with up to 600 cm distance from the medium surface, in addition to standard sensors EGE provides ultrasound sensors for applications in humid environments in protection class IP 68, IP 69, and ultrasound sensors in small compact designs. Ultrasound sensors continuously issue an ultrasound pulse. The ultrasound signal is reflected at the medium surface. The filling level is continuously calculated from the runtime of the echo of an ultrasound pulse. The sensors output PNP switching signals or a 4...25 mA signal. Ultrasound sensors are particularly suited for applications where no media contact with the sensor is desired or the sensor cannot be installed from the side or in the immediate vicinity of the medium for design reasons.
