Gettorf – Sensor expert EGE extends the SDN 552 series of flow controllers for various media, adding a new model with a wide application range which features a digital display. Just like in predecessor models, characteristics for water-glycol mixtures are pre-programmed in the new sensor. Additionally, characteristics for other media, such as emulsions, cooling liquids or lubricants can be freely programmed. Since programmed values can be read out and transferred to other sensors, only one programming process is required for multiple units. In addition to the flow rate, the medium temperature can be detected: an analog output delivers the corresponding signal.
The sensors come with an integrated digital display which shows the current flow rate. They operate according to the thermodynamic principle and have no moving parts which protrude into the medium.
The devices are fitted directly into pipes via tube fittings. They are available with flow rates ranging between 1 and 40 l/min. Within those limits, two switching points may be programmed as NC and NO contacts. Hysteresis and time delay can also be set to match the application. Sensors with a switching point and an additional linear 4..20 mA current output are available for control purposes and logging.
