Discriminating sensor: Inductive proximity switch INFW ignores aluminum

Gettorf – At the SPS/IPC/DRIVES trade fair, EGE introduced the new INFW series of inductive proximity switches which only detects ferromagnetic materials. Aluminum grit or foil at the sensor's front side do not affect operation. This results in increased reliability and renders frequent cleaning processes unnecessary. Thanks to IP 68 protection, the sensors qualify for use in rugged environments (e.g. in production plants) and withstand chemically aggressive substances such as rolling oil. INFW sensors are designed for a temperature range from +10 to +75 °C. They feature a reverse polarity protected PNP switching output and have a maximum switching distance of 13 mm. The sensors are connected via an FEP cable and mounted by means of a clamp.
