Gettorf – Due to their robust polypropylene housings, EGE's IDKW series of inductive proximity switches is suitable for constant ambient temperatures up to 120 °C. According to IP 68, the sensors are protected against water ingress up to 3 bar and resist frequent fluctuations in temperature and humidity as well as alkaline or acidic detergents. They can be cleaned with high-pressure water jets, thereby also fulfilling the requirements for IP 69K protection. This allows for their use in applications where regular cleaning processes are necessary, e.g. in the food industry or even directly in washing machines. The compact devices are connected to a 24 V DC power supply and feature a PNP switch output. The PTFE connecting cable which is attached to the sensor via a stainless steel screw connector withstands temperatures up to 160 °C.
